Decade of Failure – Focus Serbia” – Publication of Zampa di Leone

Zampa di Leone celebrates its decade of actions directed against the neoliberal schizophrenia, and the same kind of activism in culture. It is possible to sum up the principle of this event in one sentence:
Zampa’s decade-long contribution to the failed project of contemporary Serbian art is huge!
Zampa di Leone presents in Boem until now unseen collection of works entitled “DECADE OF FAILURE – Focus Serbia”. The audience will have an opportunity to read new stuff and to recall old adventures of Daddy’s Boy, Tycooness, Gera, Brdjan, Dr. Agan, Fried Gymnasts and all other sorts of heroes and heroines, protagonists of the failed project of Serbian contemporary art.
It will be also possible to read newest Zampa episode under title “The Boredom and Irresponsibility”, which is mapping Belgrade October Salon this year.
All those coming to Boem – gastarbeiters, working men and women, activists, Vienna and world audience, radical artists and other critical crowd will get the publications of Zampa di Leone.
The collective Zampa di Leone has been focused for a decade now on deconstructing the art market production and its servile role in the twilight of neoliberal capitalist culture. From mapping the local Balkan and European art scene, to uncovering the controversial process of gentrification, Zampa di Leone plunges its claws deep, revealing corruption and problematic processes of contemporary culture.
Neoliberalism is falling apart, which is reason for Zampa to smile with satisfaction!
And just as Zampa di Leone announced last year, we are all witnesses to huge chaos of neoliberalism, to whose collapse Zampa itself contributed as well, by fighting for over ten years now. And while the heroes and heroines of the DECADE OF FAILURE worshiped Marlboro, Coca-Cola’s Santa Claus label and Suzuki, and believed they would be saved by the invisible hand of regulation of the Serbian art market, now they are merely disappointed candidates for the failed EU project where Angela Merkel is forcing them to pay the interest to Deutsche Bank.
A number of critical actions, interruptions and sabotages of exhibition openings at large art events (like the Koç family Istanbul Biennial in 2009 for example) and museums were carried out by the collective Zampa di Leone.
First big exhibition of Zampa collective in Serbia was organized by artist Selman Trtovac in July 2008 at the Gallery of the University Library Svetozar Markovic in Belgrade. In the same year, a Zampa exhibition was organized in the SKUC Gallery in Ljubljana by Radical Education, the Open Space Gallery by Alex Nikolić in Vienna and many other places.
In Germany Zampa is well known and very active, in 2009 in Hamburg, there were invasions at Falkenberg Sammlung and Hamburger Kunstverein.
In 2010, an exhibition was opened in Chisinau entitled “Zampa di Moldavione”, which agitated for the initiation of the Zampa movement in the countries of former Soviet republics.
Zampa di Leone is also the initiator of the platform Art Leaks, which uncovers corruption and improper behavior in the field of cultural production.

During this summer, Zampa’s works were exhibited at the Contemporary Art Museum of Estonia in Tallinn, by curator Rael Artel, main character of the episode “In the Arse of the Baltics”.

Zampa di Leone slavi deceniju akcija usmerenih protiv neoliberalne ąizofrenije i istog takvog aktivizma u kulturi. U jednoj rečenici moguće je sažeti suštinu Zampinog delovanja: Zampin decenijski doprinos propalom projektu srpske savremene umetnosti je ogroman!
U pitanju je jedinstven događaj, jer Zampa di Leone velikodušno poklanja u BOEMU u Beču do sada neviđenu zbirku Zampinih materijala pod naslovom „DECENIJA NEUSPEHA – Fokus Srbija“.
Imaće se prilike da se u jednom izdanju čitaju najnovije, ali ne i da se zaborave stare dogodovštine Tatinog sina, Tajkunice, Gere, Brđana, Dr. Agana, Pohovanih Gimnastičara i ostalih raznoraznih junaka i junakinja, protagonista i protagonistkinja neuspelog projekta srpske savremene umetnosti. Naćiće se tu i najnovija epizoda pod naslovom “Dosada i neodgovornost”, a koja je posvećena Oktobarskom Salonu u Beogradu.

Dolazak u Boem je idealna prilika da dobrodošli gastarbajteri, radnici, aktivisti, bečka i belosvetska publika, radikalni umetnici i kritički nastrojeni zainteresovani, dobiju publikacije Zampa di Leone.
Kolektiv Zampa di Leone se već celu deceniju fokusira na dekonstrukciju tržišne umetničke produkcije i njenu posrnulu ulogu u sumraku neoliberalne kapitalističke kulture. Preko mapiranja lokalne balkanske i evropske umetničke scene, do obznane kontroverznog procesa džentrifikacija, Zampa di Leone zariva duboko svoje kandže otkrivajući korupciju i problematične procese savremene kulture.

Neoliberalizam puca kao zvečka, što jeste razlog da se Zampa zadovoljno smeška!
I kako je prošle godine Zampa di Leone i najavio, svi mi smo svedoci ogromnog haosa već slomljenog neoliberalizma, a njegovom prskanju je Zampa doprineo i sam, boreći se već preko deset godina.
I dok su protagonistkinje i protagonisti iz DECENIJE NEUSPEHA slepo verovali u Marlboro, Koka-kola nalepnicu sa Deda Mrazom i Suzuki, te da će ih nevidljiva ruka regulacije srpskog tržišta umjetnina spasti, sada su samo razočarani kandidati za propali projekat EU gde ih Angela Merkel tera da plate kamatu Dojče banci.

Mnoge kritičke akcije, prekide i sabotiranja otvaranja izložbi na velikim umetničkim događajima (kao npr. Koç family Istanbulsko bijenale 2009.) i muzejima je konsekventno sproveo kolektiv Zampa di Leone.
Prvu veliku izložbu Zampe u Srbiji je organizovao umetnik Selman Trtovac jula 2008. u Galeriji Univerzitetske biblioteke Svetozar Marković u Beogradu. Iste godine je organizovana i izložba Zampe u SKUC galeriji u Ljubljani, u okviru Radikalne edukacije. Zatim opet u Open Space galeriji u Beču od strane Alexa Nikolića, kao i na mnogim drugim mestima.
U Nemačkoj je Zampa dosta poznat i tamo je radio milion stvari. 2009. godine u Hamburgu je izvršen uspešan upad u Falkenberg Sammlung i Hamburger Kunstverein.
2010. je otvorena izloložba u Moldaviji pod nazivom „Zampa di Moldavione“, agitujući implementiranje Zampa pokreta u zemljama bivąih sovjetskih republika.
